The wonderful world of the internet

Last night Jen left for young womens and told me all the kids had to be in bed by 8:30 so she could finish her talk for church on sunday. Like the good husband I think I am all was well at 8:30. She got home and set to work on the computer. I sat down for the first time that night and enjoyed CSI New York in a sub-concious state. I was revived when the news started and decided it was time to retire for the evening. I went into the office to see how her talk was coming. Much to my surprise she had been on facebook the whole time catching up with old friends. So I told her goodnight and went to bed.
Fast forward to today. I decided to find out what facebook was all about. Needless to say I now have an account. What a wonderful world we are living in.

I am new to this

I am almost as good at keeping up on this as I was a keeping a journal on my mission. Jen just entered Lauren in a photo contest. Of course we think she will win because she is the prettiest baby ever.
It just amazes me how fast life seems to be going by. Todd just turned 14. Which means I am very close to 38. Then I realized that when Josh gets home from his mission I will be 40!! Thanks to the years I spent doing masonry my body is telling me that I am that old. Jen and I spent last Monday pulling out evergreen bushes in the front yard. By the time we finished the pile blocked the front of the house. For the next 2 days we both complained about how sore we where.
The reality that our children are getting older is setting in. Everyone has something going on every night. Between young womens for Jen and scouts, we are booked. Ethan and Nick are getting ready to start Jr. Jazz basketball and that will add more to do. I do love that they want me to be involved in all they do.

End of the summer

It' s the end of the summer and the kids have all gone back to school. Where did it go? We spent much of the summer settling into our new house. It has been great to live closer to mom and dad, even though it's only a block closer. The yard is really overgrown so we've spent alot of time clearing dead bushes and trimming back hedges. With the sprinkling system working the yard is comming back to life. If only I can get Ethan to quit running over sprinkler heads with the lawn mower.
Jen has started selling her crazy stuffed creatures and baby bows on etsy. She is having a great time doing it. What has been funny is to hear her laugh when she finishes sewing one. It's like seeing your baby for the first time. She has also discovered the art of text messaging. I believe that someday we won't need to talk because we can just text.
I took Nick to meet his first grade teacher yesturday. i have never seen him so quiet. He said he wasn't nervous because Jen made him a back pack buddy. After he said he needed a slurpee at 9 in the morning. I guess its never to early for a slurpee. The best part is a Draper City policeman paid for Nick's.
Jen and I are both going to try and keep up with this new blog stuff. So hopefully more to come.
